If you are from Gloucester or have visited before, you’ll know that it is a city that offers something for everyone, and if you haven’t yet been … what are you waiting for, we would love to see you!
Gloucester is located on the River Severn, proudly positioned with the most inland port in the UK, with a strong industrial past, clearly visible from the warehouses that still line the docks today. We are a city that is bursting with history, is vibrant with events and festivals, has a wonderful food and drinks offering, a shoppers paradise, a fab rugby team, and just so much to see and do, with many new developments to look forward to, including the Food Dock.
Here are just a few other things you could do when you visit us:
Why not book at tour of the recently renovated Folk of Gloucester and learn about the people who owned it and those or worked or lived here during the last 600 years. The Tour Guides will be dressed in costume, representing a real person connected to the building.
Make sure to visit the Museum of Gloucester, especially as it will be hosting the May The Toys Be With You Exhibition from 24 June to 30 September, one of the UK's finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters!
A visit to the newly refurbished Gloucester Guildhall is a must, with a varied programme of events, both live and cinematic, music and more. It is an immersive experience in such a stunning venue, and you can even grab a bite to eat from the café or a beverage from the bar.
Why not book a seat and cheer on the Cherry and Whites at Kingsholm Stadium, the home of Gloucester Rugby. Walk in the footsteps of Harry Potter in the stunning Gloucester Cathedral. Enjoy some retail therapy in one of Gloucester’s many independent shops, or at Gloucester Quays designer outlet where you can take advantage of discounts on some of your favourite brands.
