Gloucester Farmers Market, every Friday at The Cross (the intersection of Northgate Street, Eastgate Street, Southgate Street and Westgate Street) from 9am to 3pm. Feast on Thai, Falafel, Bakery goods and amazing donuts! Gloucester Quays hosts the Orchard Street Market on the first weekend of each month as well as the popular Victorian markets at Christmas. Blackfriars hosts an annual jam packed, food filled Vegan Fair too!
Local Produce
Gloucestershire is a foodie's paradise, boasting world-renowned produce including the Double and Single Gloucester cheeses. The UK's first pedigree breed pig, the Gloucestershire Old Spot, is quite rightly sought after by the top chefs in the country for its succulence and flavour. The River Severn is famed for its rare elvers (baby eels) which fetch a high price in restaurants in Japan.
