Summer seems to finally be here, and with it comes warmer weather and more opportunities for socialising. However, with up to 51.8% of us putting off exercise when it’s warm, it’s important to make sure we’re still keeping active even in the summer. 

The bar staff were beyond friendly and to see a venue offer their own brews added to the experience. From their Banana beer, to their selection of all time classic favourites and to my personal favourite- White Rum and ginger beer on ice with a wedge of lime, I could see that the crowd were having a good time. The Outdoor Inn was definitely the place to be on a Friday afternoon after a long day at work and a great way to start the weekend (and the month).

The annual campaign encourages people to get outside and enjoy some DIY al fresco dining, and there’s never been a better excuse to support Gloucester’s food and drink traders.

My name’s Ellie and I’m the Digital Communications Officer at Gloucester Cathedral, which I’m pretty sure is one of the best jobs in the world! I joined the team in October 2020, and since then I’ve been loving using our social media channels to show people 

I moved to Gloucester in 1982 when I secured my first teaching job at Brockworth School – teaching Business Studies and typewriting.  I stayed there for 32 years, finishing up as Deputy Head and responsible for the school’s specialism in Business and Enterprise.

I love being outdoors so one of my favourite volunteering roles has been helping at my local park.  It’s quietly tucked away at the end of the road but is home to a beautiful array of different trees, plants and insects.

In search of a cold pint in a sunny spot? You’re in the right place, from serene waterfront bars to historic ale houses and our very own brewery, Gloucester is just the place to soak up the summer sun and enjoy a refreshing beverage.

Gloucester hosts a vibrant programme of cultural events and activities all year round, from roof top festivals to City poetry trails and fashion shows. With a fantastic community of arts organisations, Gloucester is a great place for young burgeoning creatives.

Half Term is fast approaching, and you may well be starting to make plans to entertain the kids, or just yourselves! There is so much to do in the City of Gloucester come rain or shine, which is probably just as well going by the weather we have had recently! Listed below are a few ideas that you might want to consider, although, just wandering round the City itself is the perfect place to start and see what takes your fancy. 

Cyclists from Gloucester Cathedral will be taking part in a nationwide relay ride on a new cycle route linking every Church of England cathedral! The route is launching on 30 May to coincide with the start of Bike Week, the annual celebration of cycling delivered by Cycling UK.
