Hello October! Join us in welcoming the autumnal season with a busy a month in Gloucester! There is something for everyone this month from exhibits to film festivals and events to help get into the Halloween spirit! Here are some of the highlights! 


Brick History

Until 06 October

There is only a few days left to see the Brick History Exhibition at the Museum of Gloucester! Marvel at our intricate LEGO® models, from miniature marvels like the Concorde to sprawling spectacles like a bustling castle. Join the museum on a journey through time, where the past is reimagined in vibrant LEGO® form.


Gloucester Independent Film Festival

05 October

Gloucester Independent Film Festival aspires to promote, recognise, and support independent filmmakers by providing a community and opportunity to network with other emerging industry talents. By bringing us all together at the renowned Gloucester Guildhall, this event is a chance to immersive yourself in the film industry by taking part in networking, listening to seminars and Q&As and watching the award-winning films that will be showcased. Orchard St Food & Craft Market

05 - 06 October

Back on the first weekend of the month is the Orchard St Food & Craft Market! Located at the stunning Gloucester Quays, the market offers a great mix of delicious, locally sourced food and drink, artisan arts and crafts, jewellery, homeware, plants and seasonal goods, plus amazing street food and bars.


Mars: War & Peace

15 October - 03 November

Experience the wonders of Planet Mars right here on Earth within the sacred walls of Gloucester Cathedral with Luke Jerram's Mars: War and Peace on display between 15 October – 3 November. Visitors will have the chance to see Luke Jerram's incredible seven metre sculpture of Mars up close in the Cathedral Nave, accompanied by an immersive soundtrack in the surroundings of the stunning dramatic space. For a unique view of the artwork in all its glory after dark, visitors can also buy tickets for Mars: War and Peace at Night viewings! 

Other activities include Sunrise and Sunset Yoga, and Holst's Planet Suite under Mars!


Apple Day

19 October

Apple Day is The Folk of Gloucester's annual celebration of Gloucestershire's Orchards and cider industry. Working alongside the Gloucestershire Orchard Trust, they are putting on a day of music, dance, activities, and demonstrations of historical cider pressing techniques, all of which pay homage to the amazing variety of apples in Gloucestershire!


Séance

22 October - 03 November

Are you brave enough to embrace the darkness?

Step through the doors of an abandoned shipping container at Gloucester Guildhall and enter the eerie world of Séance. Once inside you'll be transported to a Victorian séance room where time seems to blur, and spirits linger. But heed our warning: here, darkness reigns supreme.


Frankenstein

29 October

Don't Go Into the Cellar Theatre Company present Frankenstein! Set against the beautiful and atmospheric backdrop of the Upper East Range at the Medieval Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester.

In this original and faithful adaptation of Mary Shelley's perennial Gothic horror, award-winning actor and writer Jonathan Goodwin plays a host of characters, including both Victor Frankenstein and his monstrous creation. Dramatic macabre storytelling at its atmospheric best! Book tickets now!

31 October
