Quirky : unusual in an attractive and interesting way

Quirky is a funny word, but here in the City we love it, and it certainly is the perfect way of describing all that Gloucester has and is!

Gloucester really is a unique City, one that has to be seen and experienced first-hand to be believed, there are not many places where you can walk in the footsteps of the stars, visit a Harry Potter film location, explore a City’s ancient underground defences, spend the night on the UK’s only existing Lightship, shop both in a discounted retail outlet and a plethora of independents, and sample some delicious and local dishes, but in Gloucester you can, all in one day (although it's much better to stay longer)! There really is something for everyone, whatever your age or interests.

Gloucester is a City not only with deep roots in it’s amazing past, but it is a City for the future, with developments such as Kings Quarter, Baker Quay and the Food Dock the city is changing, developing and evolving everyday right before your eyes. It doesn’t stand still; it is a place for its residents but also makes visitors feel at home.
