Gloucester’s self-catering and non-serviced accommodation providers will be able to open their doors to customers again from 12 April 2021. As coronavirus infection rates continue to fall, the restrictions for the sector are being lifted in line with step two of the Government’s lockdown easing plan.
The Prime Minister’s announcement earlier this month stated that self-contained holiday accommodation could reopen from 12 April. This means that holiday lets where you do not have shared facilities such as kitchens, bathrooms or indoor lobbies can begin to welcome guests.
However, there will still be restrictions in place as to who you can stay with as only a single household or bubble will be able to stay together indoors between 12 April and 16 May. From the 17 May a group of six or up to two households will be able to stay together.
Accommodation providers have been working hard in preparation for reopening, carrying out risk assessments and establishing measures such as enhanced cleaning regimes so that visitors can book with confidence. Look out for businesses that have been awarded VisitBritain’s ‘We’re Good To Go’ certification.
Flexibility is becoming an increasingly important factor as holidaymakers’ best laid plans have been subject to last minute changes during the pandemic. The market has responded with more and more properties now offering improved cancellation terms.
