To celebrate the release of the film, Peter Rabbit 2 – The Runaway, and of course, with such huge links to the City of Gloucester, Visit Gloucester are running ‘Glossy the Rabbit’s Book Trail’ from 21 May 2021 until 6 June 2021, sponsored by Gloucester BID and Gloucester Guildhall.

Glossy the Rabbit was in a mad dash, she was already running late to get to Gloucester’s Guildhall in time to watch the long awaited Peter Rabbit 2 – The Runaway film! In her haste to get there in time to buy some carrot flavoured popcorn before the film started, she didn’t notice that all of her books had fallen out of her bag and were scattered across the City – oh no!!! Glossy needs everyone’s help to find her books …

The aim of this campaign is to promote Gloucester to both residents and visitors alike, with the trail spread throughout the City it will showcase all the fabulous businesses and attractions we have.

All 23 books from the Beatrix Potter Collection will be hidden in venues with shopfronts or windows throughout the City.  Participants can either download a Trail Form from Visit Gloucester or collect a form from the Tourist Information Centre, located in the Museum of Gloucester. By following the map provided, avid book hunters will need to visit each venue and find the lost book, noting the title of the book that is hidden or displayed at that location.

The Trail will run from the 21st May until 6th June 2021 and three winners will be randomly selected. First prize is a a £50 Gloucester Gift Card and a Family Ticket to see Peter Rabbit 2 at Gloucester’s Guildhall!

Rebecca Clay, Marketing Manager at Visit Gloucester said,

“We are really excited about this event, especially as we were able to tie it in with the release of Peter Rabbit 2. Gloucester has such strong links with Beatrix Potter, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to create a fun and free event for all, whilst driving Visit Gloucester’s key focus of encouraging more residents and visitors back to the City, to support our businesses and attractions.”
