Gloucester Goes Retro

After a one-year hiatus, the vintage car, fashion and music festival is back! One of the highlights of the city’s vibrant festival calendar, Gloucester Goes Retro features over 500 classic vehicles filling the historic Gate Streets and Gloucester Docks.

You will find famous car brands from yesteryear including Aston Martin, Jensen, Bentley, Triumph, Morris and Alvis to name just a few. There are time-honoured vehicles from the turn of the last century through to the Roaring Twenties, from the War Years to the gleaming chrome of the fifties, the iconic designs of the Swinging Sixties and classic sports cars from the eighties. For music and dance enthusiasts, visit the Gloucester Goes Retro Stage where you can enjoy vintage acts and join in with swing dancing.

My Gloucester Passport

My Gloucester Passport is a free activity, it will help you explore the City, hopefully finding places you have never visited before, and everyone who completes their passport, not only wins a free funky Aluminium Drinks Bottle, which is sponsored by Gloucester Quays, but you also then get the chance to enter the Grand Prize Draw, which is sponsored by Aspire Trust, and is an amazing 6 Months aspire academy Membership!

The activity runs from 1st August until the 5th of September, or whilst stocks last

Rococo Garden Family Trail

Visit Painswick Rococo Garden this summer and take part in the enchanting trail created by local author and illustrator Hannah Shaw. Unipiggle is a muddy, loud and proud Unicorn Pig with a special magical power of turning anything he wants to CHOCOLATE!! Track down Unipiggle and find all his magical pals to solve the puzzle and find the culprit!

Rococo Garden will also be hosting a retelling of the classic story Beauty and the Beast. This enchanting production promises to be fast-paced, family-friendly and fun so prepare to be amazed and amused as IKP give this tale of adventure and acceptance their trademark ‘bonkers’ treatment.

Museum of Gloucester

There is lots to do this bank holiday at Museum of Gloucester. Explore the Museum with ‘Reggie the Raptor’s Trail Through Time’. Uncover the story of the talented artists who illustrated Ladybird books for more than 30 years. The beautiful and colourful exhibition puts on display an unparalleled collection of books, original artwork and artefacts and shows how the numerous, talented Ladybird illustrators played such an enormous role in the extraordinary success of the company in the 20th century. Witcombe Cider Festival

The three-day Cider Festival is making a return this August bank holiday 2021.

At the music festival you can enjoy a variety of local ciders and live music from an exciting line-up including Joel Corry, Basement Jaxx, Tinie, John Newman.
