Take a trip to Gloucester Cathedral as we explore some of the exact locations featured in the Harry Potter film saga to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the launch. This is the final article in the three part series, and will look at some the scenes filmed in Gloucester Cathedral from Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince.
West Cloisters Corridor
Gloucester Cathedral's West Cloister Corridor is featured in this scene, which sees Harry and Ron enjoying themselves in the corridors of Hogwarts during their free period. Professor McGonnagall appears and catches them, and quickly sends them off to a Potions class with Professor Slughorn.
The Lavatorium
Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy are discussing the ‘Unbreakable Vow’ in the Hogwarts corridors for this scene, and Harry is hiding as he hears them. This scene was filmed in the Lavatorium of Gloucester Cathedral. You may notice that some of the stained glass windows look different, as the production had to disguse all religious elements linking the location to the cathedral.
Visiting this amazing filming location? We have pulled together a list of other magical activities to do in the city this November to celebrate Harry Potter's anniversary here.
