With spring just around the corner we have a packed music programme at Gloucester Guildhall to shake off the last of those winter blues. Stacked with 6 Music favourites March offers the best new folk, indie, jazz, and funk artists from across the UK and beyond. Here are just a few of our highlights…
Benjamin Francis Leftwich
Kicking off with Benjamin Francis Leftwich (1 Mar), the London based Yorkshireman returns with a special night celebrating new album ‘To Carry A Whale’ and the 10 year anniversary of his hit debut album ‘Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm’
White Lies
One of the biggest cult guitar bands, WHITE LIES (9 Mar) will be stopping off for an exclusive warm up show before embarking on their huge UK & EU tour. Armed with new album As I Try Not To Fall Apart, the band will test their full production tour show to our intimate audience.
BC Camplight
Native Philadelphian BC CAMPLIGHT (17 Mar) excudes singer-songwriter classicism with gnarly synth-pop, ‘50s rock’n’roll, and a fearless approach to lyrical introspection. He’ll be joined by the eclectic and ever-developing sonic palette of WESLEY GONZALEZ.
Melt Yourself Down
MELT YOURSELF DOWN (19 Mar) are a tough one to pin down. With two critically-lauded albums filled with high energy, pan-global punk rock and jazz’s rich history, founder and Saxophonist Pete Wareham (Acoustic Ladyland / Polar Bear) has cemented the band at the forefront of today’s music innovators.
Tom Mcguire and The Brassholes
Glaswegian Funk/Soul powerhouse TOM MCQUIRE & THE BRASSHOLES step us firmly into spring with finely honed funk pop parcels of aesthetic joy. Music full of vitality that is a perfect fit for this time of year!
