Bright Nights
Bright Nights is a city-wide programme of spectacular light installations, and there are several installations for you to explore over half term.
Luma
Luma is a huge robot; an 8m long, inflatable snail who loves an audience. She looms above visitors with a presence which is gentle, welcoming, and otherworldly. You can meet Luma at Gloucester Cathedral on 18 February and 19 February.
Glow Globes
Discover ten giant Glow Globes which will be dotted around the city. The globes will be animated through snow and illuminated artworks, and you can scan the QR code to watch the snow dance in the globes.
Windows Through Time
Take a stroll down Westgate Street, and try and match the colourful suspended windows to the correct buildings. In addition to this, there will be special activities along Westgate Street from 18 February to 20 February, including street performers.
Lunar City
Located in GL1 Leisure Centre, Lunar City is the South West’s first gigantic inflatable city, and is bursting with fun features, including an assault course, a dedicated toddler area, orbital and astro slides, and a solar air tumbling track.
Gloucester Cathedral
Gloucester Cathedral has a whole host of activities going on this half term. Learn about and celebrate the Cathedral, make your own version of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, gain basic first aid knowledge, or take part in an introduction to wet felting.
St James City Farm
Escape the busy city while still being in the centre of Gloucester! The farm is free to visit, and has a range of animals for you to meet, including horses, chickens, goats, pigs, rabbits, and guinea pigs.
Half Term Family Eco Cafe
The Eco Café is returning to Discover DeCrypt from 23 February to 27 February. Calculate your own carbon footprint, make your own eco warrior badge, and take part in a variety of eco-friendly craft activities.
Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park
Climb, balance, jump, and swing across different obstacles on an obstacle course inspired by ITV’s hit programme Ninja Warrior UK!
Museum of Gloucester
Discover the history of Gloucester through a variety of interactive exhibitions, including a Roman kitchen playhouse, and a medieval street.
Independent Cinemas
Gloucester is home to two beautiful independent cinemas: Sherborne Cinema, and the cinema at Gloucester Guildhall, and both will be showing Sing 2 over the half term.
Nature Tots at Robinswood Hill
For children of pre-school age, head to Robinswood Hill Country Park on 23 February at 10am to get involved in wildlife arts and crafts, and to connect with nature.
