Tall Ships Festival
3 June to 5 June, Gloucester Docks
Gloucester Tall Ships is back for 2022 with a jam-packed schedule of family fun, setting sail over the Platinum Jubilee Weekend. Expect lots of entertainment for all the family from sand sculptors, meeting seafaring characters from the past, flyboarders creating daredevil stunts on the water, a vintage fairground, and musicians bursting from every corner of the historic docks.
Swing Dance Workshops

In preparation for Discover DeCrypt's Jubilee Tea Dance on Sunday 5 June, they are running three dance workshops in May, led by the talented dance instructors of Gloster Swing Dance.

Gloucester River of Hope
20 May to 12 June, Museum of Gloucester
Gloucester River of Hope is inspired by the River of Hope project, an arts-based learning project linking schools around the world through the study of rivers. The Gloucester River of Hope event celebrates the River Severn and the Goddess Sabrina, and 18 schools in Gloucester have created flags that share the children’s messages for the future.
Presentation of the 'Lamprey' Pie
30 May, Llanthony Secunda Priory
The Jubilee will see the return of the tradition of Gloucester sending a pie to the palace, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Gloucester City Council has teamed up with chefs at the Farmer’s Boy Inn to come up with a dish fit for a queen, based on the traditional Gloucester Pie, usually made with pork or lamb. It will update the tradition of sending a Lamprey Pie as lampreys are an endangered species.
Platinum Jubilee Beacon Lighting
2 June, Robinswood Hill Country Park
Gloucester will join other towns and cities around the UK by lighting a beacon on June 2. The event will be accompanied by a piper and bugler from the Cadets with an official proclamation being given by Town Crier, Alan Myatt at Gloucester Cross at 2pm.
Tea on the Green for the Queen
2 June to 5 June, Gloucester Cathedral
The Monk's Kitchen will be offering a special afternoon tea, including a sandwich, a homemade fruit or plain scone with clotted cream and jam, victoria sponge cake, macarons, strawberries, and a glass of fizz or a soft drink of your choice.
Jubilee Picnic Proms Concert
4 June, Llanthony Secunda Priory
Enjoy a picnic and an afternoon of music and song with the Beaufort Male Voice Choir, Churchdown Male Voice Choir and the City of Bristol Brass Band.
The Platinum Jubilee and Celebration of Volunteering
4 June to 5 June, Jet Age Museum
The team at the Jet Age Museum will be joined by aviation charities, including Fly2Help and their 'Travelling Airport'. The museum will be decorated with celebratory flags and bunting, and there will be outside catering and a raffle.
Jubilee Tea Dance
5 June, Discover DeCrypt
Drink tea from a vintage tea service, eat delicious homemade cake, and dance to live music from the Tea Dance Band.
