Throughout the summer, Gloucester and the surrounding area will come alive with a diverse programme of festivals. From music to a re-enactment of a medieval battle, there really is something for everyone!


Cheltenham Music Festival

8 July to 16 July

Celebrating classical music, the Cheltenham Music Festival presents a range of performances across a variety of locations throughout Cheltenham, as well as some performances in our very own Gloucester Cathedral.

 


Gloucester Fake Festival

9 July

Enjoy performances by six of the UK’s top tribute bands: Oasish, Guns2Roses, Bon Jovi Experience, Enjoy the Silence UK, Really Hot Chili Peppers, and Vicky Jackson is P!nk.

 


Tewkesbury Medieval Festival

9 July to 10 July

Less than half an hour’s drive away from Gloucester, Tewkesbury Medieval Festival is widely regarded as the biggest free medieval gathering in Europe with over 2000 re-enactors and traders.

 


Free Food Festival

23 July to 24 July

The most popular food festival in the South West, Free Food Festival offers live demos from celebrity chefs, 150 stalls offering a selection of local food, produce and crafts, a pop-up bar, some of the region’s best street food, and live music.


Gloucester Rhythm and Blues Festival

27 July to 31 July

The Gloucester Rhythm and Blues Festival is a free festival, and consists of over 50 gigs in a variety of locations across the city.

 


Cheltenham Paint Festival

30 July to 31 July

In the neighbouring town of Cheltenham, the Cheltenham Paint Festival brings high-quality artwork from leading national and international street artists to brighten up the town centre. 


King's Jam Festival

21 August

King’s Jam is Gloucester’s number 1 festival supporting music of black origin and culture. The festival brings together nationally and internationally renowned artists of various art forms, as well as talented local artists.

 


Gloucester Goes Retro

26 August to 28 August

One of the highlights of Gloucester’s festival calendar, Gloucester Goes Retro fills the centre of Gloucester with over 500 classic vehicles. For music and dance enthusiasts, the Gloucester Goes Retro Stage provides a space to enjoy vintage acts and join in with swing dancing.


Witcombe Festival

26 August to 28 August

One of the fastest-growing festivals in the UK, Witcombe Festival brings artists such as Rudimental, Craig David, Sean Paul, and Sigala to the outskirts of Gloucester.
