This month Gloucester Civic Trust, in partnership with Wall’s Gloucester, is hosting an exhibition at The Folk of Gloucester celebrating 100 years of the manufacturing of Wall’s Ice Cream.
The exhibition will take you through the evolution of ice cream production and is a centenary celebration of what Wall’s has done for generations. Come along an get a selfie on one of the original Wall’s Ice Cream bikes or on the giant deckchair!
As well as bringing ice cream lovers together, Wall’s has been one of the main employers in this city with their factory employing many of the members of the Gloucester community. Gloucester Civic Trust is asking those who have memories of Wall’s in Gloucester, from ice cream delivery to working at the factory, to come along and tell them their story.
Alongside this fantastic temporary exhibition of this iconic brand there will be various activities for you to take part in. One being the opportunity to design your own ice cream!
This exhibition and the activities have been made possible by money raised by National Lottery players and it is part of the larger project, supported through The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Rebirth of The Folk of Gloucester; What, Where, When, Why?
The Folk of Gloucester is open Thursday-Saturday 10-4 and the exhibition is on throughout November excluding the weekend of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20.
