Easter Break is here so we thought we would share a few ideas of things to do in Gloucester during the holidays!


Activity Trails

Take part in the Bunny Hop Trail from 31 March to 16 April and find all ten bunnies hiding around Gloucester to be in with a chance to win a £50 Gloucester Gift Card!

Make your way to Gloucester Cathedral to complete their Cheeky Chicks Easter Trail! A flock of cheeky chicks have escaped around the Cathedral, and they need your help to find them!

If you're doing some Easter shopping or visiting the Orchard St Food & Craft Market at Gloucester Quays, why not take part in their Spring Flower Easter Trail? All you need is the Easter Activity Book! Find out what else is on at Gloucester Quays this Easter here!

These are perfect activities for all members of the family!


Easter Activity Days at Nature in Art

Nature in Art have 7 days of crafty children’s activities such as rock painting, string art, woodland dioramas, and button craft!

While you’re there, enter their ‘Create to Celebrate’ competition in honour of the Coronation! Design and create a piece of bunting in any medium. The bunting triangles will then be pieced together and displayed in the museum.


Museum of Gloucester Tours

Join one of three tours happening at the Museum of Gloucester! On 5 April, join Lucius Sita for a guided introduction to Roman Glevum and the treasures, visible and hidden, in the Museum! Take a behind the scenes tour on 8 April for a unique view of the museum galleries and storage. You will also be shown many of the collection highlights! Or on the 12 April, head down into the Eastgate Chamber and learn about how and why the original City walls were built!


Easter Activities at Gloucester Cathedral

As well as their Easter trail, the Cathedral have a array of activities and events taking place across the break! On the 5 April, join a First Aid workshop for families and children. In this workshop, their qualified first aid instructor will teach you all you need to know to help your family in an emergency. And on multiple days throughout the break there will be family activity sessions full of fun crafts in the Chapter House!

On Good Friday (7 April), the Cathedral Choir will be performing ‘St John’s Passion’ one of the most famous choral pieces ever written. Tickets for this performance are £10 for Adults with Under 16s going free and you can book them through the Cathedral website!

On Saturday 15 April, you can have a tour of the Cathedral’s Medieval Library which contains a wonderful collection of books and manuscripts dating back to the 11th century. You can also have a Tower Tour! Get behind the scenes access to ancient roof spaces and see the largest medieval bell in Britain that is still in use.


Easter Beer Festival

Gloucester Brewery are once again hosting their Easter Beer Festival from Friday 7 April to Sunday 9 April! There will be over 50 beers, street food, and live music from local musicians! Book your tickets on their website!
