Wow, the Coronation Weekend has certainly come around fast, how is it almost May!
There is lots going on in the City as always, and some are spefically Coronation themed, keep checking back, as we will be adding to this along the way ... enjoy the long weekend, with a couple more on their way too!
Gloucester’s Royal Connections Trail
Grab an entry form from the Museum of Gloucester, Customer Services at Gloucester Quays, or download from the Visit Gloucester Website HERE, and embark on a journey through time.
Visit the nine locations on the map, watch the video and learn about the Royal Connection at that location, and collect 11 letters – unscramble them and enter your completed form for a chance to win one of two fantastic prizes!
A Right Royal Trail - Museum of Gloucester
Explore to Royal Connections through the Musuem Exhibits! Available from Friday 5 to Monday 8 May!
During the weekend, in the Museum Cafe, there will be coffee and cake. Take the time to enjoy a slice of Victoria Sponge during the right royal weekend!
Lamprey Pie Presentation
The medieval era tradition updated to reflect the modern era. A 'Lamprey' Pie will be presented to his Majesty's representative on the occasion of the Coronation of King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort.
The Presentation is taking place on Thursday 27 April at the Folk of Gloucester, 99-101 Westgate Street, between 10.30 11.30am, all are welcome to join.
The Big Help Out
The Big Help Out is a national campaign to bring together communities and showcase the impact of volunteering.
In celebration of His Majesty The King's Coronation, the campaign will launch with a national day of volunteering on May 8th and aims to continue to champion the long lasting benefits of volunteering.
Volunteering opportunities are available at the Smiles Community Cafe on the 8 May, between 10am-2pm! More information is available here!

Coronation Service - All are warmly welcome to join us for this special service, held as part of the Big Help Out, to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
The focus of this service is to highlight the positive impact of volunteer organisations across the city, county and diocese, and we hope that volunteers will join us so that we can celebrate them and thank them for all they do.
The service will begin at 11am on the 8 May, in the Nave of the Cathedral.
The Cathedral ask that you register your attendance at the service in advance Here.
Royal Connections Guided Tours - From William the Conqueror and his Domesday Book to the grand tomb of Edward II and the grisly story of his murder experience a special guided tour which brings to life fascinating royal connections and explores how they have influenced the Cathedral's history and left their mark on the building.
Available for a limited time only on selected dates from late April to early June, to coincide with the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

A Right Royal Selfie - Don your gown and fix your crown and get selfie ready on our throne fit for a King or Queen!
Visitors are invited to strike a royal pose throughout the summer. Beginning from 1 May, a historic chair will be on display in the Nave of the Cathedral, positioned just under the stained-glass window depicting the Coronation of Henry III. It will be accompanied by regal dressing up costumes, offering visitors of all ages the chance to sit in state and pose for a photo to remember this exciting time in our history.
The 'throne' will be available during normal Cathedral opening hours, which you can check HERE. There is no need to book - just turn up!
