This weekend will be another bumper schedule for events in Gloucester. From heritage days, guest appearances and flower shows to dragon boat racing, coffee concert and Eurovision events!
On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 May, the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) will be holding its National Show at Gloucester Cathedral.
Visitors will be treated to a beautiful array of floral arrangements, workshops, demonstrations and speakers. There will also be a shopping opportunity where you will find traders selling their goods in the Cloisters.
On Saturday between 10am-4pm, the Folk of Gloucester and the Cheltenham & District Orchid Society brings you Orchid's at The Folk! A great chance to buy unique orchids that you wouldn’t find in the shops. Throughout the day, Dr Tom the Orchid Doctor will be holding clinics to help make the most of your orchids and answer those burning questions. There will also be repotting sessions!
Between 10am-1pm, M&S Gloucester will be hosting a very special guest to the store for all Percy Pig fans.
From 11am, you can encounter the delights of ‘Music for Wind Quintet’ during the Coffee Concerts at Discover Decrypt.
At midday, Kings Square will be a plethora of all things from Poland with the Polish Heritage Day! Indulge in delicious Polish cuisine, immerse yourself in traditional activities, and experience the rich history and traditions of Poland.
But that's not all, Polish pop singer Ewelina Flinta will be performing live, bringing her infectious energy and incredible vocals to the stage.
In the evening, Cineworld Gloucester Quays, Tank and Warehouse 4 will be uniting people with the love of music by live streaming the 67th Eurovision Grand Final!
On Sunday, 14 May, from 10am to 5.30pm, head down to Gloucester Docks for the popular annual Dragon Boat Festival organised by the Rotary Club of Gloucester Severn. Where teams of local businesses and residents race against each other on the docks in a series of heats. A fun, wet and very competitive time is had by all participants. All net proceeds from this event being donated to worthy causes they support.
Between 11am-5pm, Kings Square will play host to the Filipino Heritage Day. Brought to you by the Filipino Association Gloucestershire, you can experience the magic of the Philippines through food, music and culture. With special guest performances by Jeffrey Hidalgo and Mervic Vicky Monocillo. As well as featuring The Soulm8s, plus much more!
