Gloucester Civic Trust offer a range of guided tours around the city!
Grab a guided character tour of The Folk of Gloucester. Immerse yourself in fascinating facts and gory stories while you explore the many rooms with a serving maid, an undertaker, a Bishop or other larger than life characters from the past 500 years. The Tour Guides will be dressed in costume, representing a real person connected to the building. Don’t forget to sit down for a cuppa in the on-site café.

Museum of Gloucester
The Museum of Gloucester has a range of tours for all ages this autumn! Get in the Halloween spirit with their Museum Ghost Tour! This family-friendly ghost tour is packed with laughter and excitement as you explore the museum's mysterious past. For the history lovers, you can take a peek at the museum galleries and storage areas with the Collections Team or go underground to visit the Eastgate Chamber with your medieval mercenary tour guide!
Gloucester Cathedral
There are two tours available at the Cathedral this autumn! Climb 269 steps to the top of the Cathedral tower and marvel the views of the city while also getting the chance to see parts of the Cathedral not usually open to the public! You can also jump at rare chance to see the Cathedrals 15th century monastic library which holds a wonderful collection of books and manuscripts dating back to the 11th century.
Gloucester Prison
With its rich history and interesting use, Gloucester Prison is a must visit! In use since the Normans, the site was the location for a huge castle possibly bigger than the Tower of London! This was used as the original county prison until it was demolished and the new Gloucester County Goal and Penitentiary was opened in 1791. Dates for guided tours are added monthly. Dates for November are available to book now!
