November is getting closer and there is lots going on throughout the month with new exhibitions, live music, and the start of the festive season! Here are some of the highlights!
Lantern Parade & Christmas Light Switch-On
16 November
The Lantern Parade & Christmas Light Switch-On is back this year! Enchanted Winter Forest lanterns will light the streets of Gloucester to mark the start of the Festive season! Kicking off the celebrations you can join the Gloucester Cathedral carol service at 4pm, which will be followed by the lantern parade at 4:45pm which will wind through the city centre culminating in the magical Tree of Light switch on in Kings Square.
Mars: War & Peace

There are only a few days left to Journey to Planet Mars at Gloucester Cathedral. Visitors will have the chance to see Luke Jerram's incredible seven metre sculpture of Mars up close in the Cathedral Nave, accompanied by an immersive soundtrack in the surroundings of the stunning dramatic space. The artwork features detailed NASA imagery of the Martian surface and is on rotation.
Séance
Until 03 November
Are you brave enough to embrace the darkness? Step through the doors of an abandoned shipping container and enter the eerie world of Séance at Gloucester Guildhall. Once inside you'll be transported to a Victorian séance room where time seems to blur, and spirits linger. But heed our warning: here, darkness reigns supreme.

Step into the Museum of Gloucester's captivating display and immerse yourself in the powerful narratives conveyed through the art of photography. Explore an array of thought-provoking themes of representation and belonging. The International Photography Exhibition is the world's longest-running photography exhibition. Through their worldwide annual open call, they encourage everyone to participate, including new, emerging, and established photographers.

After selling out their event on the 06 November, Our House at Gloucester Food Dock are hosting another Red Wine Tasting on the 13 November! Go and enjoy the cosiest of wine tastings where they'll walk you through the full bodied, the intense and the easy-going world of red wines!

Join the Cathedral tutor in the Medieval Learning Hub at Gloucester Cathedral and create your own Christmas wreath! Using a blend of fresh foliage and seasonal supplies, you'll craft a stunning wreath to take home. A hot drink and festive treat are included in the ticket price to make the experience even more enjoyable.
