Here in Gloucester, we are lucky enough to have three film venues to choose from, and we are pretty sure that our team will visit them all over the festive break.

Gloucester Guildhall Cinema

Gloucester’s Guildhall offers cinema in its Grade II listed building, right in the heart of the City. With its beautifully restored ceiling and panelled walls the cinema with only 71 seats offers the perfect more intimate film experience. Here are some of the Christmas screenings you can enjoy this year, and a little clip of one of the classics!

Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point shows a family gathering on Christmas Eve for what could be the last holiday in their ancestral home. As the night wears on and generational tensions arise, one of the teenagers sneaks out with her friends to claim the wintry suburb for her own.

Pauline Black: A 2-Tone Story shows Pauline Black, lead singer of 2-Tone hit band The Selecter, telling her extraordinary life story in the same frank manner that helped shape her as an iconic, era-defining female musician.

It’s a Wonderful Life (U) is the perfect Christmas Classic to get you in the festive mood! Beset with personal and professional problems, George Bailey finds his previously happy life falling apart around him on Christmas Eve. Seeing no way out, George considers suicide from the edge of a bridge - but Clarence, his guardian angel, intervenes and shows George what his beloved hometown of Bedford Falls would be like without him.

Die Hard (18) is THE choice for the action fans. A New York City police officer tries to save his estranged wife and several others taken hostage by terrorists during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles.

The Magic Reindeer: Saving Santa’s Sleigh (U) is the perfect family friendly option! Christmas is on the horizon, and it looks like it’s going to be the best one yet for Niko the Reindeer as he sets off to fulfil his biggest dream - taking his place next to his father on Santa’s Flying Forces. However, he faces unexpected competition from Stella, a mysterious new challenger.

Continuing the family friendly fun is The Muppet Christmas Carol (U) ... no words needed!
