In What's On

Looking for a way to keep the kids entertained this half term? The Gloucester Food Dock is turning mealtime into an adventure with a week full of classic outdoor games, exciting tabletop challenges, and a special competition with Wholly Gelato!

Free to join! No booking required — just pop down, play games, name a cow, and enjoy a meal. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or making a day of it!

Classic Children’s Games on the Quayside

Bring the whole family along to dive into traditional playground games like hopscotch, giant Jenga, hula hoops and more on the quayside. The games may be subject to the weather! And for those who prefer to stay at the table… there will be plenty of board games and puzzles to keep everyone entertained in the cafes and coffee shops.

Name a Cow Competition!

In partnership with Wholly Gelato, the Food Dock has launched a 'Name A Cow Competition!' Children and families are invited to visit Wholly Gelato and fill out a paper entry slip to officially name a new member of the Wholly Herd. No. 3333 is a young ‘fresh heifer’ who produces delicious milk with good butterfat and protein that they use to make their tasty gelato! The winner of this competition will win a £25 gift voucher, a farm visit for up to 6 people, and a photo of the cow (with a mini placard with the brand new name and the winners name) will be framed on the Wholly Gelato wall! Two runners up will also receive a £15 gift voucher.

Children’s Games in Our House

The kids are taking over ‘Our House’! In this cosy space you’ll find a dedicated Children’s Games Lounge with classics like snakes and ladders, shut the box, dominoes and lots more! This will run from Monday 17 - Friday 21, 1-4pm.

The Usual Tasty Children’s Menus!

After you’ve worked up an appetite after a few rounds of hula hooping — and submitted your ‘Name a Cow’ entry — it’s time for food! From the award winning brownies at Hetty’s Place to mini noodle bowls at Daikoku and DIY Children’s Taco Kits at Elote, you’ll find a tasty selection of children’s menus to choose from down at the Food Dock.
