On Thursday the 27th February, Gloucester Food Dock is excited to announce the arrival of Kinn Kinn, the latest independent eatery to join their thriving food destination. Known for its original and diverse culinary scene, the Food Dock is now home to Thai chef Gena's unique culinary creations, which bring the bold flavours of Thailand to the heart of Gloucester.
After becoming a staple foodie destination in Newport, this will be the second outlet of family-run Kinn Kinn. Founder Gena says, "We're thrilled to bring Kinn Kinn to Gloucester Food Dock and share our love for Thai food with the local community. We can't wait to be part of this vibrant food scene and look forward to serving locals and visitors alike." Inspired by her Thai roots and culinary expertise, Gena brings a menu inspired by the fresh street food of Bangkok and the cherished recipes of her childhood. "Each dish is carefully crafted using high-quality ingredients and authentic Thai herbs and spices, which deliver a flavour packed punch in every bite."
Amongst her lunch, dinner and take-out menus you’ll find Thai curries and Pad Thai, but expect to discover new favourites too. Enjoy Gena’s creative take on Moo Ping – succulent grilled BBQ pork skewers, or Gai Tod – crispy Thai fried chicken. Or her authentic recipe of Thailand’s most popular dish, the Pad Kra Pao (‘The Holy Basil Stir Fry’) – with chilli, chicken and Thai basil, served alongside jasmine rice with a signature fried egg on top. As a vegan, Gena has tailored her menu to suit vegetarians and vegans alike. The drinks menu includes Kinn Kinn’s own brand gin created in collaboration with the Spirit of Wales distillery. Infused with Thai botanicals, it combines Gloucester’s thriving local food scene with the refined artistry of Welsh distillation.
Ken Elliott, co-owner of Gloucester Food Dock said, “It's rare for cities like Gloucester to see such a concentration of new start-ups in the hospitality sector, especially in today's economic climate. Yet, with the opening of Kinn Kinn, the Food Dock has become home to 11 fresh, food led concepts set up by young, local entrepreneurs. Their goal is to create a vibrant space that the people of Gloucester can take pride in and truly make their own.”
