About
Beatrix Potter created one of her most loved characters here (The Tailor of Gloucester). This charming shop and museum, housed the same building that inspired the very story and is used in the illustrations, is open to the public every day where you will be served by enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers.
Visitors may enjoy viewing the tailor’s kitchen as well as a variety of displays which bring her favourite story to life. The magical shop sells a range of attractive souvenirs. The 'Animated Mice Box' is now back in the shop - just put a coin in and watch the Mice move!
