About
St. Mary de Lode is the city's oldest Parish Church being built in the 12th Century. It was built over a Saxon Church and a Roman Building.The Roman Mosaic tiled floor can still be seen in the church today.
There are two stained glass windows in St. Mary de Lode:
1. Captain Robert Nairac who was a Grenadier Guardsmen who was killed in Ulster aged 29 years.
2. Ivor Gurney, a Gloucester poet and composer.
There is a tea/coffee shop which is open 10am- 1pm May- September.
