About
Hopewell Street 2023 is the latest street colour transformation project by local artist Tash Frootko and her team of creatives. Hopewell Street sits in the heart of the vibrant and multi cultural part of the city, Barton and Tredworth.
The project that took place over the month of May attracted huge amounts of attention from the media as has been recognised internationally..
The entire street and its adjoining areas saw colour and creativity added to the buildings. 63 houses were painted in Frootko's trademark vivid colours. The corner canvas of Hopewell Street and Barton Street was painted with a stunning floral mural by street artist Sophie Mess linked to Frootko's trademark vibrantly painted houses. A quirky house and courtyard mural was painted by Stuart Doust. An alleyway and courtyard were transformed into botanical delights by Tash Frootko and Brigitte Wurfel-Mathurin. Tash Frootko also created a fun door installation and turned the tired looking outdoor staircase on Debry Road opposite the start of the street into a rainbow canvas.
Visit this wonderfully vibrant street by searching GL1 4HQ and have a walk around to find all of the elements of this kaleidoscopic transformation.
