Kids can explore the City, collecting stickers on their passport along the way!   1. Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum

Discover the lives of Gloucestershire soldiers from the last 300 years. Try on Army uniforms, look into a First World War trench, learn about medals and how soldiers won them through history with interactive displays. 

  1. Painswick Rococo Garden

Discover a haven of peace and tranquillity, sprinkled with quirky features to surprise and delight you  at the UK’s only complete surviving rococo garden. Enjoy the Family Magic Mayhem Trail, and Meet Unipiggle, a muddy, loud and proud Unicorn Pig with special Magical Powers.

  1. A Walk up Robinswood Hill

A Country Park since 1972 Robinswood hill provides a fantastic countryside experience on the doorstep of our City. Explore traditional meadows, woodland, traditional orchards and ponds stuffed with wildlife. A great place to let the kids run wild in the fresh air with views of the severn Bridge, the Malvern Hills and the Black Mountains. Robinswood Hill Café is now open Monday to Sunday, serving hot drinks, ice creams, pasties and cakes.

  1. Gloucester Cathedral

Follow the map to this building's most interesting areas and fill out the trail guide as you go. Enjoy a new trail experience at Gloucester Cathedral. The Family Discovery Guide is designed is interactive meaning children can have fun and learn at the same time.

  1. Paddle Boarding

Have a go at the world’s fastest growing water sport in the UK’s most inland dock! Go on a water adventure and see Gloucester Dock from a new perspective. Learn the basics of paddle boarding with step by step instructions from the highly qualified and friendly instructors over at Discover Paddle Boarding!

  1. Take to the Slopes

Gloucester Ski & Snowboard Centre’s slopes are the venue for year-round snow sports. The centre cater for all levels of skiers and snowboarders and even have a fun park- designed in conjunction with customers, it provides endless hours of fun for skiers and boarders. The fun park is surfaced in Snowflex, for a softer landing giving a great experience to riders of all levels.

  1. Visit Coopers Hill

We recommend walking part of the Cotswold way - Cotswold Way Circular Walk: 7. Cranham, Coopers and the Beechwoods if you’re looking for an active day out. A beautiful little walk you will see England’s most treasured habitats and beech woodlands. This walk leads you to the Iconic Cooper’s Hill where locals have tumbled after wheels of Double Gloucester Cheese.

  1. St James City Farm

Located in the middle of Gloucester, little ones will love seeing cows and sheep running about the farm. St James City Farm has provided a taste of the countryside in the heart of the city of Gloucester since 1998.

  1. Library Challenge

This year’s theme is Wild World Heroes - with great new books and activities at the city library to help the kids learn more about nature and how to protect our environment. Pop in to the library anytime from the 10th July to join in!
