Welcome in the new year with our traditional folk ceremony! Become part of a centuries-old custom as we bless the apple trees in the Folk of Gloucester garden to bring in a year of good health, good luck and fruitful harvests. Our schedule:
10:30 Morris dancing workshop with Lassington Oak
11:30 Morris dancing in courtyard
1pm Music and song session
2pm Morris dancing courtyard
2:30 Wassail procession around the building exterior
3pm Wassail ceremony with log fire, apple tree blessing and wassail song
There will also be stalls and free children's activities around our historic Tudor building, and the cafe and bar will be open throughout the day.
The suggested donation for adults is £3, payable on the door (card accepted). We are a charity and rely on donations for the upkeep of the buildings.
Entry for children is free.
