Manuscript (parabaik) showing courtiers playing polo

About

The Historical Association, in cooperation with the University of Gloucestershire, welcomes Professor Anne Curry, Emeritus Professor of Medieval History at the University of Southampton to talk about Joan of Arc. Joan of Arc was instrumental in undermining English rule in France in the early fifteenth century and it is hardly surprising that she was portrayed wholly negatively in English sources of the period. Yet views changed in later centuries and Joan became quite a heroine for English writers. Anne will trace this changing reputation through words and images of Joan from the middle ages to today.
This talk is at the Oxstalls campus and also on Zoom. Link to book for Zoom:
